Sexual Health services

Sexual Health services are provided by Young Devon across Devon from Youth Enquiry Services for young people up to 25.

Sexual Health services include free condoms, pregnancy testing and support around sexually transmitted infections.

It is recognised that young people need access to appropriate confidential, free contraception and sexual health facilities.
Services need to be user friendly towards young people, in centres that provide a variety of support and guidance around young peoples issues, thus removing any stigma from accessing support.

The aims of the Youth Enquiry Services is to provide young people with free information and support to enable them to make informed decisions regarding sexual activity.  Trained staff are able to discuss the issues around sexual relationships, and the peer pressure to become sexually active. Relationships and inappropriate sexual behaviour can also be discussed with trained staff within the Youth Advice Centres across Devon.

It is important that young people can access free contraception, including emergency contraception when it is required.  This is especially important for those who are sexually active and at risk of pregnancy
